Album Reviews

Crud

Devil at the Wheel

A good little piece of dirty industrial rock, this album will remind you of the sleaze that was La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume 666 by White Zombie, but in such a good way. This album is raunchy goodness to the last drop. If I had to choose between a sandwich and this album I would buy the album.

Stormdrain
The Immovable Objection

There is an upside and a downside to this album. The upside is that the music is good. Every song on this CD is thoroughly listenable, but the downside is that several of the songs are remixes of other songs on the album. It will be great to hear more from this group.. Let’s hope they produce more for us soon.

Collide
Live at the El Rey/Like The Hunted DVD

This is the best live album that I’ve heard in quite a long time. From the opening track to the cover of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane to the closing song this album is bliss for any Collide fan. If you need a new Collide CD then grab this one.

Collide
Vortex

How do you improve on great music? Make a two-disc remix album full of it! If you don’t have this album then you should get it. ‘Nuff said.

Combichrist
Everybody Hates You

Can’t sleep, Combichrist will eat me…

Get out the rivet gun and give me a mohawk of steel. This is gut rumbling, girly-goth smashing, killer dancefloor industrial. Some of the songs are better than others, but overall, there is little more that you could ask for if you are a dancefloor stomping rivethead. Starting at the first song, “This Sh*t Will Fcuk You Up” and moving forward from there, this album is good to the last stomp.
